Christian Home Educators of West Virginia
Families Join Together for
Home School Day at the
Capitol

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:16

Each year, home schoolers from across the state gather at the Capitol, in Charleston, to show support for the freedoms and benefits of education at home.  The Capitol halls are lined with beautiful display boards, exhibiting the creativity of students of all ages which demonstrate the standards of excellence within West Virginia’s home school community.  Also featured are a number of CHEWV graduates who are thriving in college, the U.S. Armed Forces, and the workplace.

Families can participate in tours of the Capitol and the Governor’s Mansion.  Participants gain firsthand experience of the legislative process by being present in the House and Senate galleries.  During our ceremony in the Lower Rotunda, home schoolers sign to music, sing, and give dramatic speech presentations.  The group is also addressed by Senators and Delegates from around the state who applaud the dedication of home school parents to educate their children with excellence.

We would like to thank each family who participates in this day for making it a success!
