Considering Homeschooling?
Seminar
For whom: If you’re curious about homeschooling because you’ve considered doing it; know a friend, family member, or church family who does; or if you pastor a church with homeschooling families; then we invite you to a seminar that has been designed with you in mind!

Sponsored by leaders of Christian Home Educators of WV, the seminar is free to the public!  No strings attached!

Because most of us have not been homeschooled and because homeschooling as we know it is a relatively new concept, it’s sometimes difficult to know what’s involved.  How do you do it?  Can homeschoolers get into college?  Are they socialized?  So, in a short and  fast-paced seminar, we will try to give you a peek into several homeschooling homes, tell you who is doing it, how to do it, and how homeschooled students turn out.  In addition, there will be several veteran homeschooling couples on hand to answer questions.

When:  Friday afternoon, May 30, 2008, from 3-5 P.M.  Registration is from 2-3 P.M.

Where:  The Christian and Missionary Alliance Church just off Patteson Drive in Morgantown, WV.  The church is 2 miles off Exit 155 of I-79, on a four lane highway, across from WVU’s coliseum.

What can I expect?
  • A free full packet of homeschooling information
  • Power Point and DVD presentations covering topics like the homeschooling law, homeschooling statistics, socialization, and how to get started.
  • An opportunity to register for the CHEWV state homeschooling conference which begins Friday afternoon at 5:00 with the opening of the vendor hall.  The conference continues on Saturday with workshops, vendor hall, and a used curriculum area.
